Steven Vincent - a journalist and a hero
(Posted by francois to: book pointers )I was shocked when I heard the news that Steven Vincent - who wrote a great piece in the Sunday New York Times on how the English soldiers are in effect participants in the creation of a totally corrupt and extremist government in Basra - was murdered by the very people he criticized. It is too bad that not enough people realize how critically important it is for democracies to have people like that - willing to put their lives on the line in the search for truth.
Visit his blog, and buy his last book - that's what I did.
