@blog tips, @Sebastian, @Carl - thank you for taking the time to comment on my post.

@Tarah - People forget the power of content, indeed. And it's not going to be a white paper - it's going to be a book :)

Great post Francois. It is however difficult (as I sat in a meeting last week listing to what this company referred to as 'new database entries' aka leads) to get across the point that it's not just about numbers, its about content, and information sharing. But currently, the goal set on the former.

The mindset simply still seems to be, a numbers based aka, 'suspect' ratio. Which, in many regards I get, but being of the new marketing mindset, I find it challenging to influence folks who still see the big ROI vacant lot of what isn't always immediately tangible with social media marketing. Regardless of what is obviously proven in my experience.

But what you have written here, for marketers such as myself looking to transition companies into Marketing 2.0 - would be great if it was expanded upon...I'm sensing a whitepaper perhaps?? (:

I could go on and on...again, great read.

A very interesting read. It seems to me that the key is having the patience to build for the long term by greater two way interaction with your target market.

I completely hear you. And it is definitely not good being stuck in that land. If you are stuck in that time of marketing then your success has already started twindling or will begin to twindle.
