		<description>Scarily, this bizarre division of responsibility seems to be increasingly common in smaller tech companies. And unfortunately where it often ends is a complete collapse of a true marketing function -- you know the 4 Ps, evaluating markets, creating products and then promoting them. Instead you have those competing, non-communicating silos: sales, product mgmt/engineering and a marcom dept.

It's why I am now an independent consultant :-)
