It is unbelievable to phantom just how some of those companies survive...there is so much incompetence out there...with so many people stuck in the "industrial revolution" mode of thinking and behaving. But then again, that is way more advanced than some parts of the executive branch of our government, which seem to try to take us back to the middle ages... ...oh well, enough about that.

Anything that was considered to be not in direct relation to the work (asses in seats, nose to the grindstone) was an offense punishable by immediate termination. Managers should be measuring people based on deliverables and not on how they get there. If a person wants to read blogs all day long and then do all their work at home after their family goes to sleep - is that my business?
